Breakcore kann aber aufgrund der Vielzahl an Musikrichtungen, aus denen es sich zusammensetzt, sehr unterschiedlich klingen. So können Tracks dieses Genres z.B. auch “fröhlich” (vgl. Happy Hardcore), Trance-mäßig oder auch ambientlastig klingen. Die 2006 erschienene 30-minütige Videodokumentation “Notes on Breakcore” (von Bertram Könighofer & David Kleinl) zeigt hierzu einige Mitschnitte von Breakcore-Veranstaltungen sowie Statements von Produzenten und DJs zum Musikstil.
